To exist without being seen, heard, or acknowledged is a haunting tale of the neglected. The world rushes by, a vibrant tapestry woven without a single thread of your existence. Each moment of connection feels like a distant echo that only reminds you that your existence is without meaning or purpose. The agony of it, and the Depression, anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress. The hollow and familiar feeling to appreciate the scraps left over from a feast you were never invited to or welcomed.
It is here that some will keep on scrolling but for those who might be curious, it is also here where authenticity and the human experience of pain, sorrow, and grief meet. This is where you face the darkness but this is also where truth comes to light.
Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity.
We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honour the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness, and affection.
~ Brené Brown
And here is the struggle. Our human existence makes it necessary to be vulnerable and seen. This goes against our very nature but this is the only place we find connection.
Maybe then we will find our way out of the echo chambers that leave us alone and isolated.
